Fyre was a Makuta-turned

halfling in Inferna Firesword's Heroes and Halflings, and one of the main villains in the aforementioned story.

Biography[]

Little is known of Fyre's life prior to the events of Heroes and Halflings. About 1001 years after the Great Cataclysm, Fyre was one of the three Makuta Melded by Hecate into halflings, alongside Kiria and Tayra. After being Melded to the Shadows of Toa Metru Matau, Nokama, and Whenua respectively, Fyre led the attack on Rohaya and helped kill eighteen of the twenty Toa Rohaya. After the massacre, Fyre clashed constantly with Kiria, who hated being under his authority.

When Stara, Kronus, and the remaining Toa Metru returned to Rohaya, Fyre broke the fortress key into three parts and took his part to Dragon's Watchtower. When the group confronted him in the air above the crumbling tower, Fyre gave them a terrible fight, nearly defeating them by gaining a dark influence over Kronus, but he eventually was defeated and Kronus rescued. Later on, Fyre rejected the idea of retreating off Rohaya, both because they would pursued further and because he feared Hecate's judgement if they returned to Destral.

In the last fight, he and Onewa battled to a stalemate before Onewa was thrown into unconsciousness, but not long after, he was killed by Matau, his progenitor and sole weakness.

Powers and Abilities[]

As a Makuta, Fyre had all 42 Rahkshi powers and the abilities all others of his species had. He lost the power to possess spiritless and robot bodies after being Melded, but gained near-immortality, elemental power over air, and a mind link to Matau from that. He also seemed to have a powerful mental influence over those that were in close proximity, but as it was only seen on Kronus, its effects on others is debatable.

In Heroes and Halflings, Fyre weilded a pair of swords and wore a Mask of Silence, though it is unknown if these were his preferred weapons and mask.

Personality[]

Fyre had an almost apathetic look towards others, though he was seriously irritated by Kiria's challenges to his authority. Like others of his species, he was cunning and clever, though he seems to have had the highest standing with the Brotherhood, as he was in constant contact with them during the entire story. His mind link with Matau influenced him slightly, making him occasionally use chutespeak, but his case was very mild.

Trivia[]

  • Fyre's name came from an old-timey spelling of "Fire"; however, his pronounciation could also be similar to "Fear"
  • As of now, Fyre and Deimos seem to be the only recorded halflings that can assert influence over Toa, though their methods seem to be slightly different. Whether this is an ability all halflings possess or they alone had is still unknown
